MM giftbag & my broken specks

my old pair :(

two months ago, i dropped my classes on the floor & Corinne managed to step on them before i could pick them up. they were kinda loose, but still good to wear. until last weekend, they  broke :-( i was so upset. i ended up going to Costco the next day to see if they had another pair but they didn't. so we looked for a pair similar, but no luck. after going to Target to see their selection, i made an eye appt. since my perscription expired already. went in two days later & with luck, my perscription hasn't changed from two years ago. so that was a plus. i didn't want to spend a lot of money on new specks, concidering Christmas is around the corner. the day before my eye appt., i went online searching for these frames.  i found them & ordered the frame & the next day, the website emailed me saying they were discountinued...SOB SOB SOB SOB!!! I WAS SO ANNOYED. so the fam & i hit up Lenscrafters to see what they had. LUCKLY, the lady found a pair that were similar i shape. took them 30 minutes to resize my lenses to fit inside the new pair. the new pair are lovely. not the color i prefer, but they look great on & i can see now :-)

MM thank you mini album...

Making Memories has mini album i created for this months "Thank You..." theme. you remember those mini albums they had that came out years ago where you had to buy the inserts to put into the cover that already had the ribbon? well i still have one of those & thought it was perfect for this project! i really really loved working in this size & creating with their Autumn Splendar collection!

you can check out a few of the other pages i did for the book on MM Blog...i still have more to add to it, like the grandparents & a few other people i'm thankful for!!!

2 cans of paint...

last weekend the weather was so lovely, warm & sunny! felt like spring. perfect time to do a little home improvement on the outside of the house. we've been wanting to paint the front door & shutters. the original colors are forest green for both...UGLY UGLY! i never liked the color, i love green, but not that green. so after discussion, we both agreed on black shutters & the red door i've been wanting for a long while.

Tim primed the double doors most of Saturday. Sunday & Monday i painted the door & upstairs shutters. that's me standing there...LOL. (i'll have to find a photo showing the green doors, to show the difference better)

Corinne wanted in onthe picture, too :-)

the kids wanted to help. put on their Lowe's aprons & they went to town on the shutters.

Grammie sent a sweet package last week with a nice surprise, a hat she knitted for Corinne & she loves wearing it. i think she even tried to wear it to bed one night...lol.

happy November...

Halloween was fun this year, as usual, the kids always have a fun trick or treating in the neighborhood. we hung out with some neighbor friends & their kids & got plenty of candy. it did rain, but it wasn't that bad, it mostly sprinkled. Corinne sat in her stroller the entire time but wouldn't get out of it to get candy. she went to one door & that was the last...LOL! she did get sick from eating candy, so she stayed home w/ Tim while Ty & i went to a Halloween party up.

Tim's pumpkin. he's good carving pumpkins, i actually can't stand carving pumpkins, i just want the seeds for roasting & that's it...LOL! i let him & the kids get messy with it!

this is Corinne...

 
Coirnne is having a bad day, which seems to be quite often. not sleeping well, she spooks really easy, doesn't like anything that flies or crawls, loud noise freaks her out, gets mad if she can't sit or hang on you all day long & she doesn't even like when you call her a girl or tell her her name is Corinne Liebel. she says, "No, I not Liebel, I Corinne!" and will argue with you until you agree she is not Liebel...LOL. her temper tantrums are crazy wild. she will jump up & down, stomping her feet super hard on the floor with a screaming cry to let you know she is pissed! i had forgotten about the terrible twos stage and i'm not liking it. though, i don't like to see her cry. her tears make me melt & i wish she could understand that everything is ok. but, i just let her go and have her tantrum. i figure she needs to let off some steam. it can last from 5 mins to an hour. the days it's an hour is one of those days you can't wait til the hubby is home from work to give you that extra hour to recoup. but on a good day, she is the BEST & the SWEETEST little girl you could ever imagine and i look forward to seeing her smile, showing off her cute dimples. b/c all i wanna do is hold her, kiss her and tickle her til she can't stop laughing. hoping after a weekend of indulging in Halloween candy and pumpkin carving will brighten her up a bit.

an experience

a few months ago i took a trip to California (original blog post). i had the chance to meet up with Laura Vegas & her friend, Carla Tarabus. we flew in on a weekend to film an infomercial for Making Memories die-cut machine, the Slice. it was a very fun & interesting experience.

this is Carla, chillin while waiting for Laura to arrive at the hotel. she is really sweet & fun to chat with. Carla & Laura have been bloggin friends for several years & it was their first time meeting in person. it was bittersweet. the three of us had dinner with another participant later that evening at a Mexican restaurant that had a menu a mile or more long. i couldn't make up my mind on what i wanted. there were so much to chose from. so i just opted for my usual...LOL.
 
  

the next day we all were driven to the set, which was at an amazing house. some pictures of me on the set. the makeup artists touching up our makeup was a constant thing. i don't wear makeup, no foundation so it was strange for me to not touch my face & honestly i didn't like it...LOL. just give me lipstick & i'm a happy girl :-)
 
  

the room we stayed in was a converted from a garage. i believe that house had a 5 car garage. it was HUGE! this is Carla on the phone w/ her hubby. it was the only room in the house that had a/c & it was HOT that day. the couldn't have a/c on in the house b/c of the distraction w/ the sound while filming. it was interesting b/c you couldn't eve talk outside this room much, unless you whispered, b/c of them individually filming interviews.
 

the group picture were the other participants. there are actually 3 more that participated, but they were in the middle of interviews or not around. Leah Fung was also there doing her part, but she didn't have to stay long. meeting Ana Carabas was also a real treat!!

Sunday me & Carla walked on the beach to get some pictures. we also got to hang out with Tammy & Heather the rest of the morning. we all road back together to the airport to keep each other company. 

i finally received a copy of the actual infomercial last weekend & watched it w/ the family...LOL. gosh, it's awkward watching yourself on a TV screen, seriously!! they show me twice talking & at the crop table. here are some screen shots to give you an idea & up close of one of the scenes they had me in. basically sitting w/ a group of girls during a crop. they did three interviews, including mine, w/ us all in the background. we couldn't actually talk out loud, we had to pretend to talk...HAHAHA, it was funniest thing ever. one of the girls accidentally turned on the slice...LOL! i think we did like 5 or 6 takes on this particular shot below.

stickers & a layout...

almost every week, Corinne finds a new set of stickers to dress her body with or add to my studio decor by decorating my studio shelves with them. here, she is using up my 7Gypsie stickers for her feet & another photo of her using up my KI Memories Christmas stickers i've been saving for a long while & been saving that she just ruined.

here is a layout i did not too long ago using Dream Street Papers goodies (rubons, chipboard letters & pattern paper) from Heartsung & Lullaby collection. i also glittered up my Maya Road & Technique Tuesday chipboard, too.

i'm looking forward to my weekend of creating this awesome Swatches "Create A Masterpiece", project being taught by Donna at lss. i also need to make sure i have all my supplies for the class. something i've not done yet. as usual, i waited til the last minute! have a GREAT weekend :-)
